Today we decided to go fishing. We didn’t catch any fish but we did find a newt! This particular newt happens to be an Eastern newt. So what do we know about the eastern newt?

Physical Description: Eastern Newts generally have, yellow bellies with black spots all over and have 3 to 6 red dots! Red and black spots?!🤔🤨
Native Habitats: Eastern Newts Native Habitats are the United States, Canada, south to Florida ,and west to the great lakes and Texas, and prefer to live in marshes, ponds, and lakes! They live everywhere Wow🤭
Life span: Eastern Newts live between 12 and 15 years! Wow they live to be teens😒
Prey: Eastern Newts are carnivorous creatures and prey on small insects such as Mosquitos! Eastern Newts are tiny, no wonder they eat Mosquitos 🍕🍔🍿
Preditors: Eastern Newts get hunted by big fish, Snakes, and Frogs! Wow that’s probably why they live in shallow water🤣
Breeding: Eastern Newts breed from late winter to early spring! No wonder there are a lot of Eastern Newts in the United States, Its the middle of spring!😁
